A Taiwanese week in Van Gogh's village
One week, every year. Taiwan comes to Auvers-sur-Oise: a guest artist in residence, and around them the events that make the village hum.
LabMusée invites you into TRIBAL, an exhibition devoted to Taiwanese master A-Sun Wu. Vibrant canvases, monumental sculptures, immersive rooms and the Sign-Me Garden form a route in which painting is never an object hung on a wall, but a territory to walk through. The route ends with a tasting of Taiwanese teas, selected in partnership with the Wistaria tea house.
For A-Sun Wu, gesture precedes form. The line becomes ritual: it encircles, it protects, it invokes. His tribal figures summon an archaic memory that colour drags violently back into the present.
